Physiotherapy

Physiotherapy is the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of physical injuries and movement problems.

Our physiotherapists provide detailed assessments, starting with a thorough history taking, followed by a physical examination evaluating your range of motion, strength and stability. The findings from both exams will formulate a diagnosis for your injury or condition. An evidence-based treatment plan is then developed to help you address your concerns and to help achieve your goals. We offer individualized plans that focus on reducing pain, increasing strength and mobility and improving your overall function and quality of life.

Our Physiotherapists are primary care providers, licensed through the College of Physiotherapists of Manitoba, and are trained to work with workplace and sports injuries, repetitive strain injuries, they have the ability to provide post surgical care, and to help deal with persistent pain.
Physiotherapists are an important part of your recovery from pain or injury but are key in the prevention of injuries as well.

At Seine River Physiotherapy, our physiotherapists work with patients of all ages and abilities.

Physiotherapists use many different methods to treat physical injuries and movement problems. The most common treatment techniques include manual therapy (such as joint mobilizations and manipulation), soft and deep tissue release, and exercise therapy which includes prescription of a home program for you to work on between sessions.

Other types of therapies that may be included in your treatment are:

    • Modalities such as:
        - TENS (Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation)
        - EMS (Electrical Muscle Stimulation)
        - Ultrasound
    • Heat and cryotherapy
    • Mechanical Cervical and Lumbar traction
    • Acupuncture
    • Manual Therapy
    • Custom Orthotics
