Massage

Massage therapy is the manual manipulation of the soft tissues of the body (muscle, connective tissue, including fascia, tendons and ligaments) to enhance a person’s overall health and well-being. By using pressure with their hands, massage therapists target areas of tightness to alleviate discomfort and tension. This release of the myofascial system can help promote healing and circulation, allowing the body to recover from strain and restore function.

People seek massage therapy services for a variety of reasons – to decrease pain, relax muscles, rehabilitate injuries, or to reduce stress, anxiety, and depression. Massage therapy is beneficial in all of these areas and more. Our registered massage therapists are skilled in several techniques to relieve muscle tension, reduce stress, and improve circulation. One of these techniques is vacuum cupping where cups are used to suction and separate the layers of skin to redirect blood flow to aide in cellular repair. Your massage session is customized to your individual needs, whether you require relief from chronic pain, relaxation from stress and anxiety or as the next step in healing from an injury.

Some other benefits of Massage Therapy include:
    • Prevent and alleviate pain
    • Reduce muscle spasm
    • Normalize the tone in soft tissues
    • Improve sleep quality boosting immunity
    • Improve circulation of the blood and lymphatic systems
    • Enhance better posture
    • Improve neural gliding

Our health care professionals are trained not only to provide massage, but do so using the most recent scientific evidence to provide relief for many soft tissue ailments. Therapeutic manipulation of the muscles and connective tissues can promote healing and can help the body to recover from injury and illness.

Massage therapy is a treatment option for all ages, abilities and fitness levels including those recovering from injury or people who are seeking to be proactive with their health by preventing muscle tightness and tension. It is a therapeutic way to improve physical and mental health and well being. For athletes, it is a valuable tool for enhancing performance and aiding recovery.
